How to Win Spring CleaningBy bfitch | March 19th, 2018
Spring is right around the corner – which means longer days, April showers bring May flowers, and of course spring cleaning. At least two of those three things we can look forward to. To help maximize your time this spring, here are some helpful cleaning hacks to get more ____ done in less time! So, throw back a Mocca Shot and clean your house in record time with these helpful cleaning tips:
1. Clean your microwave and sponge at the same time.
Put a damp sponge or cloth in the microwave for 2 minutes. Not only does this help zap the nasty bacteria that make your sponge smell bad, the steam helps loosen the crud in the microwave. Use an oven mitt to grab the sponge and wipe down the inside of the microwave. Save time and energy: two birds, one sponge, BOOM!
2. Keep cleaning liquid in the bottom of the toilet brush pan.
Keep your toilet brush clean by filling the bottom of the receptacle with your preferred cleaning solution. Save time by always having a clean toilet brush.
3. If you can make a pot of coffee, you can easily clean your coffee maker.
Simply run 1 part vinegar + 1 part water through a brew cycle. Then run another cycle or two of just water until the vinegar smell goes away.
4. Clean your greasy gross gas burners without any scrubbing.
All you need is a plastic bag and ammonia. Put the burners in a bag with 1/4 cup of ammonia. Seal and let sit overnight. Then all you have to do is wipe them with a sponge for a beautiful new stovetop.
5. Are you tired of endlessly scrubbing dirty pans?
Are you spending too much time scrubbing your dirty pans, or soaking them overnight and still having trouble getting them completely clean the next day? Next time, use a dryer sheet. That’s right- they’re not just for laundry. Use warm soapy water and a dryer sheet to get tough baked on food off your dishes. Let sit for an hour, and barely any scrubbing!
6. Your dishwasher cleans the dishes, but what cleans the dishwasher?
To get your dishwasher as good as new, add 1 cup of baking soda to the bottom of your empty dishwasher and let it sit overnight. Then run the hottest possible cycle using vinegar instead of detergent. You will have the cleanest, best smelling dish-washer on the block!
7. Keep the smudges off your chrome faucets longer.
Keep your chrome fixtures shinier between cleanings with this handy trick: When you finish cleaning the faucets as you normally do, take a piece of wax paper and rub the metal. This keep the faucets from showing smudges, smears and other unsightly spots off and your faucets shinier for longer between cleanings!
8. Get pesky grease stains out of your clothes.
Simply rub the stain with regular old chalk. Let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the stain. If it doesn’t come out the first time, repeat until the stain is gone. Then launder the clothing as usual.
9. Have a furry friend with dark fur and light carpets?
And, no matter how much you vacuum, there’s always some pesky hair left behind? Next time try a squeegee. That’s right, the same thing you use to clean the shower can also be used to clean your carpets!
There you have it. Get ____ done with these simple cleaning hacks and spend more time doing the things you like doing!
